Drug and Alcohol Policy

•  Illegal drugs are prohibited. If found using or possessing any substance, participant will be encouraged to seek drug/alcohol detoxification. 

•  If a drug screen results in a “positive test” for any drug for which you do not have a prescription, you are subject to dismissal. 

•  On a case-by-case basis you can have an LADC assess your treatment needs immediately and keep you in the program if you follow their recommendations.

•  Any drug paraphernalia will be confiscated.

•  Participants are to keep their medication safely stored in their room.

•  The consumption or possession of any alcohol is absolutely prohibited.

The Program is an Open Campus (no curfew)

•  Threats, acts of aggression, & fighting are not tolerated. Doing so will result in termination of program privileges.

•  Vandalism will not be tolerated (either to house or personal property).  Doing so will result in termination of program privileges.

•  Stealing will not be tolerated. Doing so will result in termination of program privileges.

•  You may not go into other residents’ rooms.

•  No smoking is allowed in the building.  Use the designated smoking area on the alley side of the building. 

•  No dishes are to be left in common areas.  Wash your dishes and return them to your room.

Program Participant Responsibilities

•  Every Monday there will be a 4:00 PM MANDATORY Happiness Meeting/House Meeting to discuss any issues, questions, or other topics related to house operations.  Other meetings will be announced beforehand.

•  A household job will be assigned to each program participant.  The job sheet will be posted on Monday of each week and are to be completed as assigned.  If you are unable to complete your house job as assigned due to absence, you are responsible for finding someone to do your house job and put their name on the house job list.

•  If you are planning on an absence, fill out the Overnight Request Form and submit it to the House Manager.

•  House keys are not to be given to anyone under any circumstance. Doing so will result in termination of program privileges.

•  Each resident has a fob for the front and back door, as well as a key to their own room. It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure outside doors are always locked and that they have their fob and keys with them. Be responsible with your fob and keys.  $5.00 will be charged for a lost fob or key. 

•  The last load of laundry shall start no later than 8 pm.

•  The television in the common area will be turned off at 10pm. Televisions may be used in your own room but at a low volume so as not to disturb others.

•  Participants will attend to their personal hygiene. Rooms will be kept clean, trash emptied when full, no perishable food left out. Staff will do random room inspections.

Rent Payments: Rent payments will be paid by Friday of each week.  Payments can be made monthly as well by the 1st of each month. If you are over 2 weeks late with rental payments, you will be requested to leave immediately.

Guest Rules:  At this time due to Covid-19 and security concerns no guests are allowed. You are allowed to meet a guest outside the building, including the smoking area.

Common Areas:

•  Kitchens, bathrooms, & ramp; hallways are to be kept clean. Violation of this policy will result in disciplinary action up to termination of participant privileges.

•  No personal items are to be kept in common areas. Helping Hands Outreach is not responsible for lost personal items. If you store personal food in the common refrigerators, label your container.

Vehicles:

•  If you own a vehicle, a parking permit will be issued when you register your license plate, make, and model of your vehicle with residence management.

•  Only one permit will be issued per participant.

•  Permits are not to be sold, lent out, or otherwise transferred to another person.
