Our Story

How It All Began

  • In 1986, born out of an urban outreach program through Faith Christian Center in Bedford, NH. 
  • Over the years as the ministry grew, we channeled our efforts towards providing temporary housing for homeless men and veterans.
  • In 1991, we purchased our first building, 50 Lowell St, Roussel House, the former Saint Joseph School for Boys. Operating as emergency housing.
  • In 2011, we purchased 142 Central St., Gendron House. Operating as transitional housing.

What We Do

Helping Hands Outreach Ministries has helped men overcome homelessness, addiction, prison, and poverty. Through our two locations Helping Hands enables men to rebuild their lives, providing:

  • Shelter and Food
  • Case Management; behavioral health services; and relapse prevention
  • Job training
  • Volunteer opportunities 
  • A safe, sober environment
  • Peer support
